Deleting your data

Monyomo has no accounts. Your recordings and settings stay only on your phone and are deleted together with the app. Our server only keeps the number of AI mode replies and your Monyomo Plus status, linked to a random number, never to your name or email address.

Cancelling Monyomo Plus

Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. Please cancel it from Apple subscriptions or Google Play subscriptions.

Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") set out the conditions for using the smartphone app "Monyomo" (the "Service") provided by Kotonoha Studio (the "Operator"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

1. The Service is a toy app in which the character "Monyomo" learns voices you record and says them back in a changed voice.
2. In AI mode, Monyomo answers what you say with replies written by AI.
3. Monyomo is a fictional character.

2. Who can use it

1. AI mode is for people aged 13 and over. We ask for your year of birth the first time you use it.
2. Minors should use the Service with a parent's or guardian's consent where needed.

3. Recordings

1. Recordings are saved only on your phone and are not sent to the Operator's server.
2. Recordings may be lost if you delete the app, your phone breaks, or you change phones. The Operator cannot restore them.
3. Get permission before recording someone else's voice.

4. AI replies

1. Replies in AI mode are generated automatically by AI. They may be untrue, inaccurate, or not what you meant.
2. The Operator does not guarantee the accuracy of replies or their fitness for any purpose. The Service does not give professional advice on medical, legal, financial or similar matters.
3. The number of AI replies is limited per day and resets at midnight Japan time.

5. Monyomo Plus (subscription)

1. Monyomo Plus is a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play that renews automatically every month. Price and contents are as shown on the purchase screen.
2. It removes ads, raises the number of AI mode replies, and raises the number of words Monyomo can learn.
3. You cancel it yourself in the subscription settings of the App Store or Google Play. After cancelling, you can use it until the end of the current period.
4. When Monyomo Plus ends, saved recordings are not deleted. Monyomo can learn new words again once you have fewer recordings than the free limit.
5. Payment and refunds follow the terms and refund rules of the App Store or Google Play and applicable law. If a payment is refunded, Monyomo Plus is withdrawn.

6. Ads

The Service shows ads (except while you use Monyomo Plus).

7. Prohibited acts

You must not:

1. break the law or public order and morals;
2. infringe the rights, privacy or reputation of others;
3. access the Service or its servers without authorization, or exploit bugs to gain unfair benefits;
4. use automated means to put a load on the Service far beyond normal use;
5. interfere with the normal operation of the Service.

8. Intellectual property

Rights in the Service's program, character, name, images, sounds and design belong to the Operator or the rightful owners. Rights in voices you record belong to you or the rightful owners.

9. Changes, suspension and end of the Service

1. The Operator may change the Service to improve it, to comply with law, or for safety.
2. The Operator may suspend all or part of the Service for maintenance, failures of outside services (AI, servers, Apple, Google, etc.), disasters and similar events.
3. The Operator may end the Service for reasonable reasons, and will give notice in advance where possible.

10. Disclaimer

1. The Operator does not guarantee that the Service will always be available or free of bugs.
2. The Operator is not liable for damage caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, except in cases of its intent or negligence.
3. Where the Consumer Contract Act or other laws do not allow the Operator's liability to be excluded or limited, those laws prevail.

11. Privacy

Your information is handled according to the Privacy Policy below.

12. Changes to these Terms

The Operator may change these Terms when needed. Important changes will be announced in advance, for example in the Service. Changed Terms take effect when posted on this page.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Unless the law provides otherwise, the Tokyo District Court or the Tokyo Summary Court has exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance over disputes about the Service.

Privacy Policy

Kotonoha Studio (the "Operator") handles your information in the smartphone app "Monyomo" (the "Service") as follows.

1. Information that stays on your phone

The following is saved only on your phone and never sent to the Operator's server. It is deleted when you delete the app.

• Your recordings and their names
• Settings such as language, how often Monyomo talks, and background
• The result of the AI mode age check (only whether you are 13 or over)

2. Information sent to the Operator's server

• Device number: a random number the app makes the first time it runs. It is not linked to your name, email address or phone number.
• AI mode usage: for each device number, the date and how many AI replies were made that day. Used to manage the daily limit and to count usage.
• Monyomo Plus status: for each device number, whether Monyomo Plus is active and until when.
• AI mode conversation: what you said (as text) and the last few exchanges are sent to make the reply and its voice. They are not stored on the Operator's server. The conversation stays in the phone's memory only while the app is open and disappears when you close it.

3. Outside services

The Service uses the following companies' services. Each handles information under its own privacy policy. These companies may be outside your country, and information may be processed abroad.

• Your phone's speech recognition (Apple or Google): turns what you say in AI mode into text. Your voice may be processed by these companies.
• Alibaba Cloud (Singapore): writes the AI mode replies and makes Monyomo's voice.
• Supabase: the Operator's server (stores usage counts and Monyomo Plus status, relays requests to the AI).
• RevenueCat: manages Monyomo Plus purchases. Processes the device number and purchase records.
• Apple (App Store), Google (Google Play): payment for Monyomo Plus. The Operator does not receive your card number or similar details.
• Google AdMob: shows ads. Advertising ID, IP address, device information and similar may be used to deliver and measure ads and to prevent fraud. You can choose about personalized ads in your phone's settings or on the consent screen shown.

4. Purposes

• To make AI mode replies and voice
• To manage the daily AI mode limit and count usage
• To provide Monyomo Plus
• To show ads
• To investigate bugs, prevent misuse, and answer enquiries

5. Sharing with third parties

The Operator does not give your information to third parties except with your consent, when outside services above process it for us as needed, when required by law, and similar cases.

6. Children

AI mode is for people aged 13 and over. People under 13 cannot use AI mode, and nothing they say is sent.

7. Retention and deletion

Usage counts and Monyomo Plus status are kept only as long as needed to provide the Service and count usage. They are not linked to names, so the Operator cannot find a particular person's records. Information on your phone is deleted when you delete the app.

8. Changes

Changes to this policy will be posted on this page. Important changes will also be announced in the Service.
